about david lampard

David is an award-winning director, production designer and writer. His work is consistently praised for its creativity, playfulness and dark originality.
Theatre credits as a director and/or designer include musicals, opera, children’s theatre and more recently, plays. His work has appeared in many festivals, including the Adelaide Festival, Adelaide Fringe Festival, Adelaide Cabaret Festival and the Adelaide Festival Centre’s Something On Saturday program.
Between 2014 and 2015, David was an emerging artist with State Opera SA, directing and designing a string of workshops, as well as four one act operas. He has since directed and designed two new mainstage productions for this company – Die Fledermaus and The Magic Flute.
David is a co-founder of Six Foot Something Productions, directing and designing Picture Perfect (Adelaide Cabaret Festival), Next To Normal (co-production with The Factory), Elegies: A Song Cycle (co-production with SINGular Productions) and The Last Five Years. With this company he also collaborates with other artists and science communicators to create “Science Theatre” — through a suite of programs called That Science Gang.
As a performer, David’s credits include television, children’s theatre, opera and musicals.
